The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill is one of Nordic Track's newest 2011 models, currently coming in at around 9. Most manufacturers - including Nordic Track - improve on older models every year.

And the C900 treadmill is no exception to this policy, coming with an upgraded motor, higher 15% incline and some very cool fitness tracking tools designed to entertain even the pickiest exerciser.

Strengths:

#1 Strong 3.0 HP Motor

This is one of the highest motor powers you can find at this price point. Many treadmills under 00 give you from 1.5 to 2.75 HP. The motor also runs pretty quiet and will give you more than enough power to run the extra long 60" belt.

#2 Long 60" Belt

This is one of the longer belts you can find on a treadmill and it gives you a lot of extra room to move. Runners and taller users will especially like it. While a longer belt is usually found in 00+ treadmills, it's not as common at this price point.

#3 Run Trails All Over the World With iFit Live

The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill comes with iFit LIVE. This means that if you have wireless Internet in your home you can connect the C900 treadmill to the Internet. iFit LIVE is powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can run or walk different trails all over the world. You can even map out your own course.

You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from 'The Biggest Loser' - where she coaches you through your workout through the console speakers.

You can also track your activity and nutrition online and even download new daily workouts. So you'll always have a new challenge.

#4 iPod/Mp3 Port With Speakers Built Into the Console

You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in audio jack and listen to your favorite music or audiobooks while you workout. This is a fairly common feature these days in many treadmills - but it's still a nice touch to have on the C900 that can make your workouts more enjoyable.

#5 High 15% Incline

Most treadmills under 00 only give you 10% incline - or 12% at best. With this higher incline you can burn more calories, build in tougher intervals and push yourself farther.

Weaknesses:

If you don't have wireless Internet in your home, you won't get the full use out of iFit LIVE - although there are still 20 built in workout programs you can use as well.

Also while the C900 is a great starter treadmill, if you're looking for a commercial grade feel or something specifically built for runners with some extra substance you may want to look at higher end models.

The Bottom Line:

The Nordic Track C 900 treadmill is an impressive new 2011 model from Nordic Track, giving you a strong motor, long belt and some fun, cutting-edge workout toys. Buyers seem to agree as well. According to my sources at Nordic Track it's actually outselling one of their most popular treadmills - the A2750 - at a 2 to 1 ratio.

While it doesn't have the substance of a commercial health club treadmill, for the price you do get a lot of value. It might be worth checking out if you're looking for a good buy for under 00.
